Re-designed fairy tale book. Used only typography.
Here is my final publication PDF. I hope that it turned out well because I really liked this project 🙂
see you all at school!
Here are my processes of the publication project.
I generated my all images using illustrator. And then using Indesign, I organized texts and images together. It was difficult to decide the lay-out of my publication because I needed to put a lot of visual information into the limited space. I learned many things through this project since it includes design, typography, photo manipulation, and printing.
Here are some photos that I traced for the project.
Do you know your IQ scores? I remembered I took IQ test when I was in elementary school, but I am not sure if the score is still the same. If you are with high IQ score (in the top 2% of the population- about over IQ score of 130~135), you are qualified to join in Mensa club.
According to the Mensa website,
Mensa was founded in England in 1946 by Roland Berrill, a barrister, and Dr. Lance Ware, a scientist and lawyer. They had the idea of forming a society for bright people, the only qualification for membership of which was a high IQ. The original aims were, as they are today, to create a society that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions. The society welcomes people from every walk of life whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population, with the objective of enjoying each other’s company and participating in a wide range of social and cultural activities.
Here is a Mensa workout quiz just for entertainment use. Why don’t you try this quiz just for fun and then try the real Mensa IQ quiz(you have to pay for Mensa test, but there are other free internet IQ tests)? If you score high IQ scores, you can join the one of the smartest clubs in the world!

I love bike riding in Stanley park in the summer. I recommend bike riding in the park to everyone since the trail is very beautiful (there are beaches, small parks, swimming pools and so on) and it is good for your health. I rented a bicycle and it took about 1~2 hrs to finish the trail ( I paid 10 dollars for rental). I hope all of you enjoy this wonderful summer with fun activities!
Here is a bike & rollerblade rental website located in Denman street. Check out the price and the location.

I am interested in informational graphics and designs and for this project, I would like to challenge something I haven’t tried before. While i was researching, I reminded of the Melina&keith incident which happened in 2005. The Melina & Keith was a fishing boat, but it sank off the coast of Newfoundland killing four crew members in 2005. I am familar with the incident becuase I had a chance to write a research paper about it and felt really sorry for the crews and their families. I was shocked and very frustrated when I heared about the incident. When I read the incident report for the research paper, I was confused because of overwhelming information (The report consists of 15 pages of texts). I thought it would be nice if I could contribute to visualize the incident. I would like to make a booklet abot the Melina & Keith incident visualizing why and how it happened. I hope my booklet could help people to understand the tragedy better and caution small mistakes can bring such a tragic deaths.
I will mainly use vector images generated by illustrator and try to avoid too many texts. I want this booklet to be visually strong and easy to understand as an informational work. I will upload more processes soon!

Here are some more interesting out door ads. These ads make public spaces more interesting and exciting to live (though they are trying to sell something eventually). How was registration everyone? I got in every cass I wanted! yay!
I think my posters would be placed at the bus stops, streets, and shopping mall. Considering the context of the posters, I think the shopping mall especially the food court where people spend money on food will be the best place to be presented.
This is HBO’s Canne award winning outdoor advertising.
The campaign featured a four-minute film projected on to the side of a building that allowed “viewers to become voyeurs watching eight different apartments encompassing life, death and everything in between”. HBO picked up the grand prix award for outdoor advertising in Cannes for the projection installation, titled “Voyeur”.
I am interested in advertising industries and I think the outdoor ads especially have a lot of creative possibilities. Here are some BBC outdoor ads which I love. The use of medium and urban space is perfectly communicating what BBC aims to show.
