Do you know your IQ scores? I remembered I took IQ test when I was in elementary school, but I am not sure if the score is still the same. If you are with high IQ score (in the top 2% of the population- about over IQ score of 130~135), you are qualified to join in Mensa club.

According to the Mensa website,

Mensa was founded in England in 1946 by Roland Berrill, a barrister, and Dr. Lance Ware, a scientist and lawyer. They had the idea of forming a society for bright people, the only qualification for membership of which was a high IQ. The original aims were, as they are today, to create a society that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions. The society welcomes people from every walk of life whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population, with the objective of enjoying each other’s company and participating in a wide range of social and cultural activities.

Here is a Mensa workout quiz¬†just for entertainment use. Why don’t you try this quiz just for fun and then try the real Mensa IQ quiz(you have to pay for Mensa test, but there are other free internet IQ tests)? If you score high IQ scores, you can join the one of the smartest clubs in the world!

Summer fun

I love bike riding in Stanley park in the summer. I recommend bike riding in the park to everyone since the trail is very beautiful (there are beaches, small parks, swimming pools and so on) and it is good for your health. I rented a bicycle and it took about 1~2 hrs to finish the trail ( I paid 10 dollars for rental). I hope all of you enjoy this wonderful summer with fun activities!

Here is a bike & rollerblade rental website located in Denman street. Check out the price and the location.

This is¬†HBO’s¬†Canne award¬†winning outdoor advertising.¬†

The campaign featured a four-minute film projected on to the side of a building that allowed “viewers to become voyeurs watching eight different apartments encompassing life, death and everything in between”. HBO picked up the grand prix award for outdoor advertising in Cannes for the projection installation, titled “Voyeur”.

I am interested in advertising industries and I think the outdoor ads  especially have a lot of creative possibilities. Here are some BBC outdoor ads which I love. The use of medium and urban space is perfectly communicating what BBC aims to show.

Here is an useful typography website you may want to visit. Though I am in communication design, I did not like to study typography and did not care about it when I worked on my design works until last year. After taking typography class last year, I realized how the knowledge of typography can be effective and powerful when it is used for designs and art works. This website explains the basic elements and anatomy of types, kerning, tracking, alignment and different kinds of grids. I find that this website is very useful when I design something with texts and I hope that this website also helps you guys for designing your posters : )

vision 2019

I found a inspiring video clip which depicts the new ways of communicating information in the future (2019). Everything seems possible by simply “touching” the screen, mobile or even in the air. There are new touch screen phones now, but it the near future, most electronics would have “touch” screens to operate them. Though it wouldn’t be exactly like this video in 2019, I want to believe that we will live in the future like that someday. ¬†

Check out the clip!
